It was a mediocre week for the For Foot Sake team last week, reaching just 65 points despite using the triple captain chip. 40 of the team’s points came from the two forwards, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak, and only Josko Gvardiol chipped in with any other meaningful contributions. Still, it’s onto FPL Gameweek 4 and we’ll see who makes the line up this time as we aim to fare better.

FPL Gameweek 4 Target Fixtures & Players
Arsenal (vs Sunderland, away)
The Champions have started the season in fine form with three wins for three in the league and a winning start in Europe. Several players are purring, and while Sunderland did snatch a point against the Gunners last season, it’s difficult to see a repeat of that given the form of the two sides.
Top picks:
- Ricardo Calafiori (5.7m) – Already up 0.2m and could have had a goal against Chelsea, rested against Napoli and looks like one of the first names on the teamsheet currently.
- Ezri Konsa (4.5m) – Started against Chelsea and looked assured, a value route into the best defence in Europe.
- Martin Odegaard (6.6m) – Looks back to his sparkling best and grabbed a lovely goal in Naples. A bargain at 6.6m.
- Kai Havertz (7.5m) – In good scoring form and despite other forwards looking strong, Havertz is producing reliable output
Chelsea (vs Hull, home)
Chelsea performed admirably at Arsenal on Sunday and then hammered in six against Leeds in the Carabao Cup in midweek. Newly-promoted Hull have made a fantastic start on their return to the Premier League, but may struggle to contain a rampant Blues side.
Top picks:
- Jarrel Hato (4.5m) – Hato is getting forward well for Chelsea, who don’t look capable of keeping a clean sheet, but as a wing back he should get plenty of attacking returns.
- Morgan Rogers (7.6m) – Scored against Arsenal and playing very nicely in Xabi Alonso’s attack.
- Cole Palmer (9.6m) – Quiet against the Gunners but loves playing at Stamford Bridge and fancied to perform well this weekend.
- Joao Pedro (7.7m) – No returns against Arsenal but always looks a threat and likely to be involved in anything Chelsea produce going forward.
Liverpool (vs Fulham, home)
Liverpool picked up their first win of the domestic season on Friday and had an impressive win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in midweek. Fulham are in dire straits and it doesn’t look like things are going to improve for former Red Alvaro Arbeloa at Anfield this weekend.
Top picks:
- Dominik Szoboszlai (7.0m) – Szoboszlai takes a lot of set pieces and scored in midweek, making it two for the campaign, and has the chance to add to that tally against the Cottagers.
- Cody Gakpo (7.5m) – Absolutely flying and hard to believe he was close to being sold. Looks borderline must-have in FPL now.
- Alexander Isak (9.1m) – Looks in good nick and will like the look of what he’s seen of Fulham’s defence so far this campaign.
Brighton (vs Coventry, away)
Brighton had a disappointing draw at home to Leeds last weekend but take on Coventry who are yet to win or score in the league this season. Several value picks in the Seagulls’ squad which can enable more premium picks throughout the side.
Top picks:
- Bart Verbruggen (4.5m) – Looks the best 4.5m keeper in the game and despite just one clean sheet so far, will fancy his chance of doubling his tally here.
- Maxim de Cuyper (4.7m) – Another defender to have risen by 0.2m and while he keeps playing on the wing, he’s a must-have.
- Malick Yalcouye (4.5m) – A starting 4.5m attacker midfielder for a decent side, a good fifth midfield option and the basement price.
Manchester City (vs Manchester United, away)
City have struggle a bit at Old Trafford in recent times, but with their form and United’s defensive woes, they look well worth targeting in FPL Gameweek 4.
Top picks:
- Josko Gvardiol (5.6m) – Gvardiol looks rejuvenated after an indifferent campaign for City last term, now back to his best and scoring plenty in FPL.
- Rayan Cherki (7.6m) – Hit the post against Coventry last week and the maverick midfielder has started the season superbly.
- Erling Haaland (15.6m) – Added two goals to take his season tally for five and has a good record against United, set and forget for the Norwegian.
FPL Gameweek 4 Captain Picks
Erling Haaland (C) – It was a coin toss this week but Haaland gets the armband as he loves the big occasion.
Alexander Isak (VC) – Isak is a reliable backup option after his two goals against Ipswich last week.
Worth a Punt
Tarik Muharemovic (5.0m) – Muharemovic is a major attacking threat and defcon machine, so offers multiple paths to points at home to Newcastle.
Yeremy Pino (5.5m) – Two assists for the Spaniard so far make Pino an interesting pick for the home match against Ipswich.
Alex Scott (6.0m) – Two double-figure hauls so far this season make the Cherries star a strong differential at home to Brentford.
Jorgen Strand Larsen (6.0m) – With Mateta out Strand Larsen looks set for some regular gametime and picked up a fine brace in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
