FPL Gameweek 25 Preview Banner

After a solid week last week, FPL Gameweek 25 throws up fresh challenges. With so much still to play for, there are opportunities in almost every fixture at the moment, so we’ll try to cut through the noise to deliver simple, reliable advice for this gameweek to help you surge up those mini-leagues. This week there is a nice bank of home fixtures to centre your focus around, and a differential captaincy pick to help you points haul.

FPL Gameweek 25 Target Fixtures & Players

Arsenal (vs Sunderland, home)

Arsenal took a massive step forward after their recent wobble last week, hammering Leeds 4-0 away from home. They also secured a place in the Carabao Cup Final in midweek, so the Emirates should be jumping. Sunderland are having a remarkable first campaign back in the top flight, but Arsenal smell blood in the title race and will surely see off the Black Cats in this one.

Top Picks:

  • Gabriel (7.0m) – Rinse and repeat. Threatens to haul at both ends every week, a must-have.
  • Piero Hincapié (5.1m) – Hincapié is a genuine differential in a defence that regularly delivers clean sheets. His pace and comfort on the ball should keep him in the XI, and with Arsenal’s dominance from set pieces, he’s got sneaky attacking upside to go with the defensive security.
  • Noni Madueke (6.8m) – Fresh off a goal and an assist last week, Madueke looks set to keep his spot on Arsenal’s right while they avoid rushing Saka back. A solid differential.
  • Viktor Gyökeres (8.7m) – Four goals in his last five games and quietly building momentum, Gyökeres is starting to look like an FPL option again. He offers form, confidence and genuine differential upside in a side creating chances for fun.

Chelsea (vs Wolves, away)

Chelsea are yet to lose in the league under Liam Rosenior and travel to rock-bottom Wolves in good goalscoring form. Cole Palmer is expected to return to the starting line up and you always expect him to perform well against the weaker teams.

Top Picks:

  • Marc Cucurella (6.0m) – Cucurella’s role has become far more advanced, often stepping into midfield and getting involved in Chelsea’s build-up and chance creation. That added attacking presence, combined with clean sheet potential, gives him sneaky routes to points.
  • Cole Palmer (10.4m) – Expected to return here and even when Chelsea aren’t at their best, he finds a way to deliver.
  • Enzo Fernandez (6.8m) – One of the form players in the game. Enzo is pulling the strings in everything Chelsea do, regularly arriving on the edge of the box and involved in set pieces.
  • João Pedro (7.5m) – Pedro is flying under Rosenior and can be fancied to add to his recent goal run in this fixture.

Manchester United (vs Tottenham, home)

Another in-form side, Michael Carrick has totally transformed Manchester United and they face a Tottenham team in all sorts of bother. Yes, they came back valiantly against Manchester City last week, but facing United at Old Trafford is a daunting task at the moment. Carrick’s charges have re-found their attacking impetus and will be expected to overcome this latest challenge.

Top Picks:

  • Harry Maguire (4.3m) – Maguire looks revitalised under Carrick. Clean sheet potential plus aerial threat puts him firmly back on the FPL radar, and a snip at 4.3m.
  • Bruno Fernandes (9.6m) – 10-5-10, a superb run for Fernandes as he continues to prove why so many stick with him through thick and thin in FPL. We’ll stick with him after last week’s haul.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (8.5m) – Another goal last weekend, a forward masquerading as a midfielder in the game, against a leaky Spurs defence. This is a great opportunity.

Brighton (vs Crystal Palace, home)

Brighton vs Palace is one of the low-ley rivalries that always stirs up huge tension. The Seagulls have had a rotten run of late goals against them, but Palace are in even more trouble, failing to see off Nottingham Forest last time out despite playing ten men for more than a half. Brighton will fancy their chances of heaping the pressure on the Eagles.

Top Picks:

  • Bart Verbruggen (4.5m) – A kind fixture and Brighton’s improving defensive numbers give Verbruggen genuine clean sheet potential at a budget price. He’s a smart enabler with upside between the sticks this week.
  • Jan Paul Van Hecke (4.5m) – Van Hecke has become Brighton’s most reliable source of defensive contributions, consistently racking up clearances, blocks, and bonus-friendly actions. At this price, he offers steady points with the chance of more if a clean sheet lands.
  • Danny Welbeck (6.2m) – One of the most underrated forwards in the league and in FPL, Welbeck’s movement and link-up play keep him central to Brighton’s attack. Sitting on eight league goals, he’ll be hungry to add to that against a defence he can exploit.

Fulham (vs Everton, home)

Fulham came desperately close to snatching an unlikely point from Old Trafford last week and are in excellent form. Everton still look a bit toothless up front so a low scoring encounter is expected here, which will suit managers invested in the Cottager’s defence.

Top Picks:

  • Calvin Bassey (4.5m) – Bassey is back in DEFCON mode, aggressive in duels, dominant in the air, and constantly piling up defensive actions that FPL rewards. If a clean sheet comes, he’s almost guaranteed to be in the bonus mix.
  • Antonee Robinson (4.9m) – On his day, Robinson is a sensational FPL performer, bombing forward from left-back and delivering quality into the box. With clean sheet potential and real assist threat, he offers multiple routes to points.
  • Harry Wilson (6.1m) – Wilson is the budget midfielder whose form is now impossible to ignore. Involved in set pieces and shooting with confidence, he’s turning limited touches into consistent returns.

FPL Gameweek 25 Captain Picks

Bruno Fernandes (C) – Fernandes has routes to points everywhere; Penalties, set pieces, chance creation, and the freedom to arrive in the box. When he’s at the heart of everything, the captaincy ceiling is massive.

Cole Palmer (VC) – Palmer away at the league’s bottom club is exactly the kind of fixture you want your vice-captain in. On penalties and central to all Chelsea’s attacking play, he’s a safe fallback with serious upside.

Worth a Punt

Lewis Dunk (4.5m) – Always a threat at set-pieces and solid clean sheet potential this week.

Crysencio Summerville (5.5m) – In-form midfielder with two goals in two, he goes up against a Burnley defence leaking goals.

Estevao (6.4m) – Came off the bench in midweek, always dangerous and has a great run of fixtures.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (5.9m) – A great budget forward option, particularly this week where he faces Nottingham Forest at home.
