FPL Gameweek 24 preview banner

FPL Gameweek 24 is upon us and after a difficult few weeks, there are some clear players and fixtures to target as we begin the home stretch. With a double gameweek announced in GW26 too, this is a time where managers can surge up their mini-leagues.

FPL Gameweek 24 Target Fixtures & Players

Arsenal (vs Leeds, away)

Arsenal slipped up at home to Manchester United last week but started that game brilliantly, and it was only a lapse in concentration from Martin Zubimendi and two wondergoals that gave United the win. They rotated the whole XI against Kairat in midweek, and know they can’t afford to slip up here. Leeds lost the reverse fixture 5-0 so the Gunners are fancied to pick up three points here.

Top Picks:

  • David Raya – The most reliable keeper in the game and continues to impress despite Arsenal’s wobble in form.
  • Gabriel – Probably the only guaranteed starter in Arsenal’s defence this weekend and a set-piece threat as always.
  • Bukayo Saka – Arsenal’s attacking talisman, the most reliable goal threat and potential penalty taker.
  • Leandro Trossard – Likely to start given Martinelli played in mid-week, always capable of a goal in big games and a good differential given Arsenal’s run of fixtures.

Aston Villa (vs Brentford, home)

Aston Villa overcame a tough away game at Newcastle last week. While they’ve been in Europa League action in midweek, that hasn’t halted their progress so far this campaign, and they face a Brentford side coming off the back of a poor 2-0 home defeat to Brentford last week. Expect Villa to continue their title push.

Top Picks:

  • Matty Cash – Villa’s top overall and highest bonus point scoring defender, a strong clean sheet and assist candidate.
  • Morgan Rogers – Strong captaincy candidate for FPL gameweek 24 after scoring on Thursday. A brilliant footballer.
  • Emi Buendia – Scored a beauty against Newcastle and is becoming one of Emery’s top lieutenants.
  • Tammy Abraham – A 6m gamble given Ollie Watkins went off injured in Thursday’s match.

Chelsea (vs West Ham, home)

Chelsea have performed well under Liam Rosenior and face a resurgent West Ham side at home. While this will be a tough London derby for the Blues, they’re expected to win and have a number of their attacking players flying at the moment.

Top Picks:

  • Trevoh Chalobah – Mr Reliable at the back for Chelsea and strong attacking threat too.
  • Enzo Fernandez – Quietly becoming one of the best midfielders in the world and put in another great performance against Napoli after scoring against Crystal Palace last week.
  • Joao Pedro – Chelsea’s undisputed best centre forward and in great scoring form.

Manchester United (vs Fulham, home)

Top Picks:

United have done a complete u-turn in form since Michael Carrick took charge, defeating the league’s two best teams in Manchester City and Arsenal. Fulham won’t be an easy game, the Cottagers are in good form themselves, so Carrick’s men aren’t guaranteed to win this one. However, there are a number of great attacking options for the Red Devils this week.

Top Picks:

  • Bryan Mbeumo – Back from AFCON and has hit the ground running with two goals under Carrick.
  • Bruno Fernandez – United’s talisman and year-on-year one of the best FPL picks you can find.
  • Benjamin Sesko – Another attacking punt but the way United are set up now, expect him amongst the goals soon.

Manchester City (vs Tottenham, away)

City benefited from Arsenal’s loss last week and travel to Spurs knowing they may be able to cut the gap down to 1 point if Mikel Arteta’s men lose at Leeds. Tottenham have been dreadful in the league and it’s fair to say Thomas Frank is only still there because of European form. Guardiola’s men always hit form in this part of the campaign, so a win for them here is expected.

Top Picks:

  • Marc Guehi – Has slotted in seamlessly and is an absolute gem in FPL due to his set piece threat and defensive contributions.
  • Antoine Semenyo – Has carried on where he left off with Bournemouth and loves a goal against Tottenham.
  • Erling Haaland – Back amongst the goals last time out, you can’t seriously think about leaving him out, can you?

FPL Gameweek 24 Captain Picks

Morgan Rogers (C) – Taking a punt this week given Erling Haaland’s form and City’s historic struggles against Tottenham. Rogers got 8 points last week and has a nice fixture on paper against Brentford.

Erling Haaland (VC) – Back in the goals against Galatasary in midweek but worth picking a differential skipper this week.

Worth a Punt

Murillo – The best defender in a Sean Dyche managed team and owned by just 1.9%? The definition of ‘worth a punt’.

Morgan Gibbs-White – Palace are all over the show at the moment and Gibbs-White can profit in this one.

Kobbie Mainoo – Straight back into the United starting XI and rightly, owned by less than 1% and 4.6m. He has potential in both boxes.

Brian Brobbey – Sunderland’s in-form striker is a snip at 5.5m at home to Burnley.
