It was one of those weekends where everything just clicked. A sizeable bet on Man City to beat Liverpool landed without too much stress, Borussia Dortmund left it late but did the business with a last‑gasp winner over Stuttgart, and Adelaide at least gave me my stake back to round things off. A real mix of drama, value, and sensible punting — the sort of card that reminds you why you do this.
Now we roll into midweek, and the Champions League betting is back on the menu. I’ve got a couple of tidy little wagers lined up, nothing reckless, just the kind of angles that make a Tuesday and Wednesday night feel a bit more alive.

Real Madrid v Bayern Munich
Champions League, Bernabeu, Madrid, Spain, 9pm CET, Tuesday 7th April
Prices: 2.82 Real Madrid, 4.05 Draw, 2.32 Bayern Munich
UCL specialists Real Madrid lost at the weekend, which all but ends the La Liga title race, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years it’s this: domestic form means absolutely nothing when the Champions League anthem kicks in at the Bernabéu. In the last round they were priced up as outsiders against Manchester City — outsiders! — and they handled them with a level of authority that should have put the layers on notice.
Yet here we are again. Madrid at home, in Europe, being treated like they’re just another team. They’re not. There’s a magic to these nights, a sense of inevitability that only grows when you look at the names on the teamsheet. Vini Jr, Mbappé, Valverde, Bellingham — players who can flip a tie on its head in a single moment. This is a powerful, seasoned, battle‑hardened Champions League side.
Bayern are a great team, no question, but they’ve already been beaten at the Emirates this campaign and now walk into another of Europe’s true fortresses. I just think the price is wrong. Madrid are huge value here, and the draw‑no‑bet gives us the safety net while still letting us lean into the magic.
Tip: Real Madrid Draw No Bet @ 2.13. 1 unit.
PSG v Liverpool
Champions League, Parc des Princes, Paris, France, 9pm CET, Wednesday 8th April
Prices: 1.73 PSG, 4.16 Draw, 4.30 Liverpool
There’s a clear class gap here, and it’s impossible to ignore. PSG are the reigning champions and absolutely dismantled Chelsea in the last round; Liverpool, meanwhile, are hanging on by their fingernails. Their season — and possibly Arne Slot’s future — rests on this tie, which is never a good place to be when you’re heading to Paris.
Salah’s farewell tour couldn’t have started any worse than that 4–0 humiliation against Man City at the weekend. Virgil van Dijk openly admitted they gave up. That’s not a throwaway line — that’s a captain telling you the dressing room is on the floor. And now they walk into a test arguably bigger than anything they’ve faced all season.
Liverpool are dreadful at the back right now. The structure is loose, the distances are wrong, and the individual errors are piling up. That’s a nightmare when you’re up against the most polished attacking unit in Europe. Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia — it’s poetry in motion the way they combine, the way they break lines, the way they punish even half‑mistakes. Liverpool won’t be able to live with that tempo or that quality.
PSG have scored fifteen in their last four games, and I don’t see Liverpool slowing them down. In fact, I see PSG adding at least two more to that tally. The play here is obvious.
Tip: PSG to win @ 1.73. 1 unit.
